Publisher Description
OpenHTML is a private, on-device viewer for HTML, Markdown, ZIP web projects and source files on iPhone and iPad.
Open files from Files, Mail, chat apps, AI tools or Safari. Preview pages offline, inspect what went wrong when a file does not render, and export finished pages when you need a clean copy.
What you can do:
- Open .html, .htm, .xhtml and Markdown files
- Import ZIP archives and multi-file web projects
- Render LaTeX math in Markdown offline, with no scripts
- Preview local pages with network access off by default
- Diagnose missing files, blocked resources and JavaScript issues
- View JSON, XML and source files with a code-friendly reader
- Export full pages to PDF or long images with OpenHTML Pro
- Keep selected files in your OpenHTML folder in iCloud Drive and open them on your other devices with OpenHTML Pro
Private by default:
OpenHTML has no accounts, no analytics and no ads. Files are copied into the app's private storage and stay on your device unless you add them to your own OpenHTML folder in iCloud Drive. Remote resources stay blocked unless you choose to allow them for a trusted document.
OpenHTML is designed for developers, students, researchers, writers and anyone who receives HTML reports, AI-generated pages, saved webpages or packaged web projects and wants to inspect them safely on iOS.
Version History • New Make One with AI: describe the tool you want, then copy a ready-made prompt into the AI you use. The prompt already tells it how pages run in OpenHTML.
• Pages can now show alert, confirm and prompt dialogs, just like in Safari. If a page keeps opening them, you can stop them.
• Copy for AI now includes OpenHTML's rules, so the fixed page works here the first time.
• Add to Home Screen now explains what each method needs, and browser icons open offline after the first time.
• Fixes: Pro is confirmed right after purchase, PDF export captures pages that scroll inside a panel, Desktop mode uses the desktop layout, and the share sheet now offers Save Image. 1.7.1 Oct 6 • Each document now keeps its own web data. Deleting or clearing one no longer affects the others, and project data stays after you reopen it.
• New Copy for AI: copy a page's errors, environment and source in one tap, then paste it into your AI assistant to fix it.
• Pasting an AI reply with one HTML code block now imports just the page. The Safari extension opens OpenHTML right after saving. 1.7.0 Sep 26 • After importing a web document, an optional Add to Home Screen action helps you set it up faster.
• Creating Home Screen launchers in OpenHTML now requires Pro. Existing icons still open your documents for free in the standard reader.
• Clearer Pro feature highlights during onboarding and in the upgrade screen. 1.6.2 Sep 18 What's new in 1.6.1:
• The setup guides are illustrated now: every step of the Safari extension, Shortcuts and Home Screen setup shows a screenshot in your language
• Sample documents and sample pages read in your language instead of English
• Add to Home Screen moved into the Share sheet, where the Safari and Shortcuts routes sit side by side
• The Safari extension's own screens are translated into all 14 languages 1.6.1 Sep 17 What's new in 1.6.0:
• Send pages from Safari to OpenHTML with the new Safari extension
• Add a library document to the Home Screen through Shortcuts; Pro opens it in distraction-free App Mode
• Cloud Library now uses the full viewer, with diagnostics, inspectors, export and protected source editing for Pro
• Adding tags in Cloud Library now needs Pro, the same as tags on this device; removing a tag stays free
• Files and Open In now show the page without importing it — tap Save to Device when you want a copy in your library
• Inspect local storage and cookies alongside elements and network requests
• Save linked images, styles and fonts in captured Safari pages for offline viewing; uncaptured resources are reported
• Captured Safari pages drop cookie banners and pinned overlays — in a saved page you could never dismiss them again
• Get Info shows the web address a captured or shared page came from, with tracking parameters removed
• Use Shortcuts to export PDF, PNG and single-file HTML with Pro, including sequential batch conversion
• Save the page you are viewing as a new document, keeping what you typed and what scripts drew on screen
• Saved offline copies now open in isolation, and anything the capture could not save is listed on the page
• See which requests were blocked while an archived page replays
• When two devices change the same Cloud Library document, nothing is overwritten: the other version is kept on this device as a separate document 1.6.0 Sep 14 What's new in 1.5.3:
